Britney Spears turned 39 on December 2, and celebrated with the release of “Swimming in the Stars.”
The previously unreleased song was originally recorded for her 2016 album, Glory, but was later left off the tracklist. “We’ll dive in / Head first, all the way down / In gravity’s arms we’ll drown / The world is ours / When we’re swimming in the stars,” she sings on the atmospheric love song.
“Swimming in the Stars” was co-written by Matthew Koma and is set to appear on the upcoming vinyl deluxe edition of Glory. Earlier this year, Spears re-issued Glory on streaming services, alongside the release of “Mood Ring.”
