BLACKPINK’s Jennie goes “Solo”

The K-pop star makes her solo debut.

Following the release of their smash single “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” and their recent collab with Dua Lipa, the members of BLACKPINK are now looking to make their solo debuts. And first up is Jennie with the aptly titled single, “Solo.”

The track, which shifts between Korean and English, is an empowering anthem that proves Jennie doesn’t need a man to make her happy. “Used to be your girl / Now I’m used to being the GOAT / You’re sittin’ on your feelings / I’m sittin’ on my throne,” she rap-sings. A hypnotic blend of finger snaps and whistles, “Solo” was produced by hitmaker Teddy Park, who’s written for major K-pop bands and BLACKPINK’s labelmates Big Bang and 2NE1.

The drop was accompanied by an alluring visual featuring Jennie as its cute-turned-badass heroine, with plenty glamorous outfit changes and sleek choreography. Check it out below:
