Billie Eilish speaks out on body-shaming in powerful new short film

‘Not My Responsibility’ was originally made for her now-postponed world tour.

Billie Eilish has unveiled Not My Responsibility, a striking short film that was originally produced for her now-postponed world tour.

In the captivating clip, directed by Eilish, the singer—who notoriously favors baggy clothing—slowly strips down to a black bikini before sinking into water. The visual is soundtracked by a powerful monologue from Eilish, who speaks out against body-shaming over a brooding production.

“We decide what they’re worth. If I wear more, if I wear less, who decides what that makes me? What that means?” she questions in the short film. “Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?”

Earlier this month, Eilish postponed all dates for her world tour in support of her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In February, she released “No Time to Die,” and became the youngest person to write and perform a theme song for the James Bond film franchise.
