Billie Eilish releases dark new track, “You Should See Me in a Crown”

One more step towards pop domination for the teenager.

We’d love to check out what’s spinning on Billie Eilish’s Spotify playlist. The singer-songwriter songs swerve from folk to hip hop to straight-up, candy-colored pop, and her new track, “You Should See Me in a Crown,” is another genre-bending gem.

Dubstep wobbles, passionate crooning and hip hop swaggering combine on this track that’s as dark and brooding as anything off Siouxsie & the Banshees’ discography. Finneas O’Connell, Eilish’s brother, also lends his production chops to the tune.

“You Should See Me in a Crown” follows “Lovely,” a collaboration with rising R&B star Khalid. But we’re still waiting on news of the 16-year-old’s debut LP—it can’t come soon enough.
