Billie Eilish has dropped a mesmerizing video for “Xanny,” a cut from her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?.
In the clip, which is also the pop star’s directorial debut, Eilish sits on a park bench unfazed as disembodied hands use her face as an ashtray. “I’m in their second-hand smoke / Still just drinking canned coke / I don’t need a xanny to feel better,” she sings.
“I’m very excited to share my directorial debut,” Eilish said in a press statement. “Visuals are so important to me, and I’m very proud to be in a place where I can present my creative vision exactly as I want it. Thank you to everyone who has put their trust in me.”
Besides “Xanny,” When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? also featured the chart-topping “Bad Guy.” Last month, Eilish released the song “Everything I Wanted,” dedicated to her older brother and close collaborator, Finneas.
