Benny Blanco taps Marshmello, Vance Joy for “You”

It’s the pop producer’s first release of the year.

Benny Blanco has enlisted Marshmello and Vance Joy for his first release of the year, “You.”

Boasting guitars and horns, the joyful pop track pairs glossy production with uplifting lyrics about finding someone who makes you feel safe. “When the night is over out of all the places I could choose / I go to you, only you / Feel you just below the surface, darling / All I wanna do is go to you,” Joy sings on the chorus.

The collab arrived with a claymation video directed by William Child, who’d previously worked on Trippie Redd’s videos “Yell Oh” and “The Grinch.” In the clip, Blanco goes on a mission to find his friends who have been kidnapped by an alien. But as it turns out, the alien was just a lonely soul looking for companionship.

Blanco dropped his debut studio album, Friends Keep Secrets, in 2018. Since then, the pop producer has been busy collaborating with the likes of Justin Bieber, Calvin Harris and the late Juice WRLD.
