Bat for Lashes releases “Kids in the Dark”

    The first taste of Natasha Khan’s new album, ‘Lost Girls.’

    Bat for Lashes—aka Natasha Khan—has dropped a gorgeous new single, “Kids in the Dark.”

    The song is the first taste of the new Bat for Lashes album, Lost Girls, and it’s a dreamy one. Gauzy synths billow over a lazy beat as Khan sings to a romantic partner: “Let’s take it down to the heart / Let’s take it down to where the loving starts / Where we’re just kids in the dark.”

    As Rolling Stone reports, Lost Girls is a conceptual album that creates a world, set in Los Angeles, around a character named Nikki Pink. The ten songs on it apparently pay homage to ’80s films that have influenced Khan.

    Lost Girls, which will be Khan’s fifth full-length album, is out September 6 on AWAL Recordings. Listen to “Kids in the Dark” below:
