Bastille are headed in a positive direction for their next album, Doom Days. That much is clear from their new single, “Joy,” which the British group dropped late last week.
The song befits its title, triumphantly blasting an infectious dose of energy outwards. “Joy” is an interesting choice to lead the campaign for an album titled Doom Days, but frontman Dan Smith did explain to NME that the record explores the concept of an “apocalyptic house party.”
