Avril Lavigne goes goth in “I Fell in Love With the Devil” MV

Avril Lavigne has released a moody and cinematic clip for her Head Above Water cut, “I Fell in Love With the Devil.”

In the video, directed by Elliott Lester, the singer drives a hearse down a winding road, transporting her own body to her final resting place. Later, she encounters and falls in love with a mysterious man who—as the song title indicates—is presumably the devil. The visual also includes scenes of the Canadian pop star playing the piano in a graveyard and singing while clutching a cross.

Lavigne released her comeback Head Above Water LP in February, which was her first studio album in over five years. The record includes the emotional title track, the Nicki Minaj-assisted “Dumb Blonde” and the bluesy song, “Tell Me It’s Over.”
