Ariana Grande gets jealous in new “Boyfriend” music video

Her latest collab with Social House receives a dramatic and violent visual.

Ariana Grande has dropped off a stylish and dramatic video for “Boyfriend,” her newest single featuring Social House.

Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who also helmed the videos for Ari’s “Thank U, Next” and “7 Rings,” the clip opens with the singer at a decadent house party where she finds Michael Foster, one half of Social House, flirting with other guests. The sight quickly turns the pop star green-eyed and she swiftly enacts revenge on all the women cozying up next to Foster. “You ain’t my boyfriend / And I ain’t your girlfriend / But you don’t want me to see nobody else / And I don’t want you to see nobody,” she sings on the chorus.

“We wanted to make something uplifting that captures that feeling of being afraid to take the leap and trust, being afraid of being hurt or feeling like you won’t be enough for that person… but also how it feels to have [a] crippling crush on someone,” Ari said in a tweet about the song.

“Boyfriend” was co-written by Ari and Social House, the same duo behind some of the singer’s hits off Thank U, Next and 2018’s Sweetener. The Grammy-winning singer had previously released a collab with BFF Victoria Monét, “Monopoly,” in April.
