Ariana Grande ends 2018 on a high note with “Thank U, Next” MV

An homage to chick flicks like ‘Mean Girls’ and ‘Legally Blonde.’

Over the weekend, Ariana Grande dropped the highly anticipated video for her smash hit, “Thank U, Next”—and it promptly became a runaway sensation of its own.

The vibrant, cameo-filled clip recreates iconic scenes from legendary chick flicks like Mean Girls, Bring it On, Legally Blonde and 13 Going on 30. All your favorites are in there, from the “Jingle Bell Rock” performance to the iconic bend ’n’ snap.

The video is an homage to these “classic, girly, early 2000s [and] ’90s movies that have shaped and moulded so many of us into the strong and intelligent, but still playful and girly women that we are today,” Grande said in a behind-the-scenes clip.

It hit more than 50 million views within a day of its release, smashing the YouTube record for the most views in 24 hours, as Variety reported.
