Anne-Marie has collaborated with Doja Cat for the first time, releasing the brand-new single “To Be Young.”
The song was co-written by Anne-Marie, alongside Billy Walsh, Delacey and Louis Bell, who also produced the track with Teo Halm. It’s a mellow synth pop production that celebrates the spirit and recklessness of youth, from falling in love and getting heartbroken to drinking too much and acting a fool. “We’re all a mess but I guess / This is what it feels like to be young,” Anne-Marie and Doja sing on the chorus.
“To Be Young” dropped alongside a colorful performance video, directed by frequent Ariana Grande collaborator Hannah Lux Davis. Shot during the lockdown, the visual features Anne-Marie and Doja putting on a fashion show and experimenting with make-up in their respective homes.
“To Be Young” is the latest single from Anne-Marie, who previously released the songs “Birthday” and “Her.” Doja, on the other hand, recently teamed up with City Girls for “Pussy Talk” and released a sparkly visual for her Gucci Mane-assisted Hot Pink cut, “Like That.”
