AJ McLean gets sentimental in “Boy and a Man” MV

The Backstreet Boy took inspiration from Pixar’s ‘Up.’

AJ McLean’s latest single, “Boy and a Man,” has received a visual treatment that doubles as an endearing tribute to a lifetime of love.

The Rene Elizondo Jr-directed clip follows a couple’s journey from young love to old age. The Backstreet Boy was inspired by the opening scene of Up, which he has cited as one of his all-time favorite Pixar movies. Filmed at Disney’s Golden Oak Ranch, the video also includes a cameo from McLean’s wife, Rochelle.

“Boy and a Man,” which was co-written by Rob Crosby and Dave Fenley, is the latest track off McLean’s upcoming country album, Long Road. On the heartwarming ode to romance, McLean earnestly reassures his partner of his maturity and will to commit. “Baby I know you ain’t looking for a hit and run / You need someone to hold when the night’s getting cold, let me be the one,” he sings.
