Witherfall have released “Another Face,” another single from their forthcoming third album Curse of Autumn.
As expected from the Los Angeles band, “Another Face” comes loaded with grandiose melodies and heavy instrumentals. The new single channels the drama of ’80s hard rock via wailing guitar solos, high-flying vocals and quieter moments of balladry.
According to the band, “Another Face” was first penned on an acoustic guitar with the aid of ample red wine. “Some of the best memories from the recording sessions were working out the outro of the song after the solo,” they recalled fondly in a statement. “Between guitar and vocal harmonies and subtle harmonic shifts the ending is such a highlight of the record. Jon Schaffer and Jim Morris really brought a lot of energy to these sessions.
“For everyone involved it was a highly creative time. This track is a great testament to what can happen when everyone on a production team gets to shine a little light on a song.”
Witherfall released their previous LP, A Prelude to Sorrow, in 2018. Curse of Autumn, which will also feature “The Last Scar” and “As I Lie Awake,” arrives March 5, 2021 via Century Media.
