Four musicians, including Blink-182’s Travis Barker, have teamed up on an American Sign Language (ASL) cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.”
The performance was spearheaded by artist Elise Trouw and Paul Raci, who co-stars in the film Sound of Metal alongside lead actor Riz Ahmed, who plays a heavy metal drummer who begins to lose his hearing.
Raci, who is the hearing son of deaf parents, is also an ASL interpreter and the frontman of Black Sabbath “ASL rock” tribute band Hands of Doom. Though Trouw supplies vocals for the cover, the focus lies on Raci, who signs the lyrics with flair. Barker joins Trouw and Carey Watkins on drums for the percussive performance.
