Pallbearer have shared the third single from their upcoming LP Forgotten Days: “The Quicksand of Existing.”
In a press release, the band explained that their new single is a reflection on family and loss. It was accompanied by a dramatic music video depicting the pain and the heartbreak a single life-altering moment can cause. The gut-wrenching clip was directed by Ben Meredith, who also helmed Pallbearer’s video for “Forgotten Days.”
“As we strive to be, the forces of entropy perpetually pull us down into a state of being unmade,” bass player Joseph Rowland shared of the new song. “The body degrades; the mind and memories fray into unwoven threads, no longer connected to the rich fabric of the self. Choices made upon our separate and conjoined paths may find us engulfed in a mire of our un-making. I wanted this song to face this reality with a grim determination.”
Pallbearer’s previous studio album Heartless dropped in 2017. Forgotten Days, which also features the track “Rite of Passage,” is due out October 23 via Nuclear Blast.
