Ozzy Osbourne has released a harrowing, semi-autobiographical video for his comeback single “Under the Graveyard.”
Directed by Swedish filmmaker Jonas Åkerlund, the clip stars actor Jack Kilmer as a young Ozzy on a debauched rock star bender in a hotel room. But before the drugs and booze claim him, Ozzy’s now-wife Sharon Osbourne comes to the rescue, forcing him to start the torturous but necessary process of getting sober.
The video is hard for Ozzy to watch, he said in a statement, “because it takes me back to some of the darkest times in my life. Thankfully Sharon was there to pick me up and believe in me. It was the first time she was there to fully support me and build me back up, but it certainly wasn’t the last.”
“Under the Graveyard,” which Ozzy released in November, is his first solo single in nearly ten years. Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith played on the track. Producer Andrew Watt—whom Ozzy met via Post Malone—played guitar.
The track previews Ozzy’s new album, Ordinary Man, which is out next year. Watch the “Under the Graveyard” video here:
