Experimental metal outfit Liturgy have released “Pasaqalia II,” which is a reimagining of their 2019 song, “Pasaqalia.”

The reworked track showcases Liturgy’s penchant for sonic exploration, with “Pasaqalia II” leaning more into electronica and old-school rap. The accompanying music video features different shots of frontman Hunter Hunt-Hendrix performing to the camera.

The new song is a “digital aria” that is part of the band’s ongoing opera, “The OIOION Cycle,” according to a press release. The opera’s first installment was “Origin of the Alimonies,” which they performed in Los Angeles last year.

“Pasaqalia” appeared on Liturgy’s latest album, HAQQ, which was released digitally last November. The record will be released physically on May 15.
