Evanescence recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform “Wasted on You,” a cut off their forthcoming fifth studio album The Bitter Truth.
The band recorded their parts remotely, with every member playing in their own purple-lit rooms from locations such as California, Florida, Georgia and Germany. Despite the unorthodox arrangements, they still delivered a performance that could rouse a filled venue.
“I don’t need drugs / I’m already six feet low / Wasted on you / Waiting for a miracle / I can’t move on / Feels like we’re frozen in time / I’m wasted on you / Just pass me the bitter truth,” frontwoman Amy Lee passionately belted on the chorus.
The Bitter Truth is due for release on March 26 and marks the band’s first project with all-new music since their 2011 self-titled album. “Wasted on You” was the first The Bitter Truth cut released, and was followed by “The Game is Over,” “Use My Voice” and “Yeah Right.”
In October, Lee contributed to Bring Me The Horizon’s EP Post Human: Survival Horror, by featuring on—and co-writing—“One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be in Your Chest As You March to Your Death.”
