Watch Anthrax, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies members cover Rush

Separately in their own homes, while under self-quarantine.

Members of Anthrax, Testament and Suicidal Tendencies have released a cover of Rush’s “YYZ,” each musician recording while self-quarantined in their own home.

Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante, Testament lead guitarist Alex Skolnick and Suicidal Tendencies bassist Roberto “Ra” Diaz came together for the cover, which was uploaded to Benante’s YouTube channel on April 5.

“Rush inspired all three of us to be better musicians,” Benante wrote in the video description. “Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee and the great Neil Peart [who died in January] not only played amazing, they also wrote some of the best songs. We are honored to play a little ‘YYZ’ for you.”

Skolnick was on tour with Testament in Europe last month, after which his bandmate Chuck Billy, Billy’s wife and a number of crew members tested positive for the coronavirus, as Rolling Stone reports (Skolnick confirmed on March 18 that he did not test positive).
