Ulcerate have released “Stare Into Death and Be Still,” the title track of their upcoming album.
This new song by the New Zealand black metal trio is an eight-minute blitzkrieg of riffs, blast beats and growls. It’s a mighty preview of Ulcerate’s sixth studio album, which revolves around what the band have dubbed “death reverence.” The record, a statement explains, “draw[s] on recent personal experience to confront the truism that death and tragedy aren’t always sudden or violent, that people are often passive observers trapped ‘in the silent horror of observing death calmly and cleanly’.”
Stare Into Death and Be Still is Ulcerate’s follow-up to the 2016 record Shrines of Paralysis. Their new album is out April 24 via Debemur Morti Productions.
