Stream Sleep’s first record in 15 years, ‘The Sciences’

It’s the stoner metal’s first album since 2003, and it arrives on the most perfect of dates.

What a great day for surprises it’s turning out to be. After Prince’s estate shared an amazing clip of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” Sleep have rocked out of their slumber with a brand-new album, The Sciences.

The six-tracker comes to us, naturally, on 4/20. It’s the hugely influential stoner metal trio’s first record since 1999’s Dopesmoker, and sounds as massive, hypnotic and gnarly as their ’90s output. Put it on and you can almost smell the dank smoke waft from your speakers.

We know you’re probably impatient to get to the album to soundtrack your day’s, err, ‘festivities,’ so here’s The Scientist in all its riff-heavy reefer glory:
