Sacred Reich release grotesque new video for “Manifest Reality”

A cut from ‘Awakening,’ the band’s first album in 23 years.

Arizona thrash metal outfit Sacred Reich have released a video for “Manifest Reality,” the first single from the band’s upcoming fifth LP, Awakening.

The grotesquely surreal clip was directed by Mark Pellington, who has worked with the likes of Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam. “It shows the struggle we face day to day, moment to moment in overcoming the habits we have created that hold us back,” said frontman Phil Rind of the video. “The conflict between our best and worst instincts. Releasing grief and overcoming isolation. The yearning for something better.”

“Manifest Reality” previews Sacred Reich’s forthcoming album, Awakening. The record will be their first release in 23 years, and also marks the return of drummer Dave McClain, who had previously left in 1995 to join Machine Head.
