Russian Circles welcome a ‘Blood Year’ with new single, “Arluck”

    The post-metal band are back.

    Russian Circles have announced their new album, Blood Year, with the new single, “Arluck.”

    The Chicago post-metal group are at their best on the nearly seven-minute-long track. The band take turns to introduce themselves: It opens with tight drumming from Dave Turncrantz, after which Brian Cook enters with his characteristically taut basslines. Guitarist Mike Sullivan comes in with a riff, and the song soon mutates into a powerful showcase of the trio’s collective musicianship.

    Blood Year was recorded and mixed by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou. The seven-track album arrives August 2 via Sargent House. Hear “Arluck” below:
