Jamming sessions rarely get this intense. Pig Destroyer’s gritty new visual, for “Army of Cops,” brings them out of hibernation and back on the scene, along with some big album announcements.
More of a studio recording than your traditional music video, the three-minute clip showcases everything metalheads love about the genre. Guitarist Scott Hull added: “Hot and sweaty metal dudes rockin’ it out in a stuffy loading dock on a 102-degree day.”
You’ll find a few unfamiliar faces in the clip, too. After taking a six-year hiatus, Pig Destroyer added new members to the line-up. John Jarvis joined as the band’s first-ever bassist, and Enemy Soil’s Richard Johnson lends his unstoppable vocals to “Army of Cops.”
The relentless track is taken off their upcoming LP, Head Cage, listed for September 7. And if the allusion to the grisly medieval torture device is anything to go by, it’s going to be a violent, head-banging romp.
