Obscura drop new track, “Ethereal Skies”

It’s five-and-a-half minutes of metal madness.

German metal masterminds Obscura are gearing up to release Diluvium, the fourth LP in what the band have described as a “conceptual circle” of albums.

After sharing the title track and leading single “Emergent Evolution,” the band have now dropped the third track, “Ethereal Skies”—and fans of the band’s technical take on death metal will lose their minds.

The track starts with intricate guitar work before frontman Steffen Kummerer’s rumbling roars kick in, backed up by a layered chorus of softer vocals. From there, the song twists and turns in unpredictable directions—highlighting once again why Obscura are one of the best technical metal musicians around today.


Diluvium arrives on July 13. So until then, check out “Ethereal Skies” below:
