Northlane drop searing new single, “Enemy of the Night”

They’re readying a deluxe edition of their 2019 album ‘Alien.’

Australian metalcore band Northlane have released “Enemy of the Night,” a new single off the upcoming deluxe edition of their fifth album Alien.

Alien arrived last August and consequently won the Sydney group an ARIA award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Album. Now, the limited-edition deluxe reissue of the LP has been announced. It will include a new instrumental version of the album, the original edition and “Enemy of the Night.”

“‘Enemy of the Night’ was the last song to be completed and is personally my favorite song from the Alien sessions,” vocalist Marcus Bridge said in a statement.

“It has a similar, storytelling style to ‘Freefall’ as it recounts memories and experiences from my childhood of my father falling deeper into addiction and the desperate things people will do to satisfy those needs. Despite his best efforts, he was never able to beat his demons. This song is the missing piece to the Alien puzzle and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

Recently the band shared a short documentary Negative Energy, which captured the arduous road to recording and releasing Alien and the aftermath. Alien Deluxe will be released on July 31 via UNFD.
