Metallica upload 1988 live footage of “Eye of the Beholder”

Captured at the peak of their powers.

It’s been 30 years since Metallica released the acclaimed album …And Justice for All, and the legends are throwing a fitting celebration.

After announcing the release of a 30th anniversary limited-edition box set, out November 2, they’ve also decided to celebrate #30YearsofJustice over the next nine weeks by posting live videos of each song from the record, starting with “Eye of the Beholder.”

The footage of “Eye of the Beholder” was captured with a camcorder—remember those?—at the 1988 Damaged Justice tour stop in San Francisco. The video’s old, fuzzy and shaky, but the powerful riffs and the crowd’s excitement are still palpable through the grain.
