Marissa Nadler, Stephen Brodsky release “For the Sun”

The first single off their forthcoming collaborative album, ‘Droneflower.’

Now here’s an exciting collaboration in the metal realm: Singer-songwriter Marissa Nadler has joined forces with Stephen Brodsky of Cave In and Mutoid Man for a joint album, Droneflower. They’ve just released its first single, “For the Sun.”

The ominous track chugs along on a looping guitar motif, and builds menace with other luminous guitar lines and other abraded sounds. Nadler opens the song with a foreboding line that isn’t so much sung as breathed: “I want to love you but I don’t know how.”

Droneflower will be out April 26 on Sacred Bones. Listen to “For the Sun” below:
