Lzzy Hale leads Baroness, Code Orange members on Pantera cover

They took on “Mouth of War” for ‘Two Minutes to Late Night.’

Lzzy Hale helmed a metal supergroup—including members of Baroness and Code Orange— that recently covered Pantera’s 1992 track “Mouth for War.”

The cover was released by YouTube metal talk show Two Minutes to Late Night Bedroom Covers COVID-19 series, which has previously shared collaborative covers of Fleetwood Mac, Kate Bush, Rush and more.

Hale was joined by Baroness guitarist Gina Gleason, Code Orange guitarist/vocalist Reba Meyers, Mutoid Man drummer Ben Koller, Year of the Knife bassist Madi Watkins and Two Minutes to Late Night host, Jordan Olds. The cover dutifully pays its respects to Pantera’s mauling original, with Hale’s visceral vocals as the incredible centerpiece.

In the YouTube video’s description, Olds revealed that it was Gleason and Meyers that requested to cover Pantera. As with the preceding Bedroom Covers performances, all artists will be donating their fees to a charity, this time supporting the Dallas Hope Charities Transitional Living Center.
