Lamb of God’s Mark Morton makes solo debut with ‘Anesthetic’

Guests on the album include Randy Blythe, Mark Lanegan and the late Chester Bennington.

Last Friday, Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton released his first-ever solo album, Anesthetic.

The ten-track album features many guest artists, including Myles Kennedy, Mark Lanegan and, notably, the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Morton’s bandmate Randy Blythe also appears, dueting with Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz on the closing track.

“Early [on,] it was just basically me sort of writing songs and collecting songs that were pretty clear to me weren’t going to fit in the framework of Lamb of God,” Morton told Consequence of Sound of the origins of Anesthetic. “But I felt that the tunes that were coming together were pretty cool and worth developing.”

Lamb of God haven’t put out an album since 2015 (though they did release a covers album last year as Burn the Priest), and fans who’ve been craving some fresh riffery from Morton can’t go wrong with Anesthetic. Stream it below:
