Lamb of God treat fans to new song, “New Colossal Hate”

However, their upcoming self-titled album has been delayed.

American metal band Lamb of God have unveiled “New Colossal Hate,” another preview of their upcoming self-titled album.

On the song, frontman Randy Blythe lashes out at the treatment of the poor and working class. “The mother of exiles stands there weeping / As her children tear themselves apart / Knives are out, her thoughts are bleeding / Blood runs down her welcoming arms,” he growls.

“‘New Colossal Hate’ came out of our very first writing session in Maine,” guitarist Willie Adler said in a press statement. “I’m pretty sure ‘New Colossal Hate’ grew from a few different demos I had. You know, like parts of [a] car. However, as it started to take shape, it quickly became my favorite song on the record.”

“New Colossal Hate” is the third single to arrive from Lamb of God, following “Memento Mori” and “Checkmate.” The record was originally slated to drop on May 8, but the coronavirus pandemic has forced the band to reschedule the release for June 19.
