Killer Be Killed share new album ‘Reluctant Hero’

The six-year wait is over.

Killer Be Killed—the supergroup featuring current and former members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, Sepultura and Converge—have released their sophomore album Reluctant Hero.

It has been over six years since Killer Be Killed dropped their debut self-titled album. Despite peppering fans with tantalizing mentions over the years of a follow-up, the supergroup appeared to have no concrete plans for a second album. It wasn’t until the single “Deconstructing Self-Destruction” was released that the band confirmed Reluctant Hero’s existence and impending release.

Besides the album, Killer Be Killed shared an animated video for “From a Crowded Wound,” created by Ghost and Napalm Death artist Costin Chioreanu. The Black Sabbath-inspired track’s visual tells an earthy medieval tale of love, loss and retribution and delivers an ominously heavy sound. “‘From a Crowded Wound’ is the creeping punisher on this record,” drummer Ben Koller said in a statement. “A lumbering steamroller laying a trail of sleek acid slime from beginning to end.”
