Good news for fans of Sacramento metalheads Journal: after eight years of being away from the limelight, the band are finally back together. They’ve just shared the title track from their forthcoming concept-album, Chrysalis Ordalias, and let’s just say it’s all worth the wait.
The band prove that they haven’t lost their touch when it comes to creating heavy, game-inspired mathcore music. “Chrysalis Ordalias” goes on for seven glorious minutes, and it’s overflowing with insane technical mathcore, featuring melodious interludes and frenzied guitar riffs.
The record follows their 2010 progressive mathgrind magnum opus, Unlorja.
