Hear Pig Destroyer’s new EP, ‘The Octagonal Stairway’

The follow-up to ‘Head Cage.’

American grindcore outfit Pig Destroyer have released their new EP, The Octagonal Stairway.

For their new release, the Virginian band tap into grindcore’s early thrashcore roots to deliver a visceral collection of songs before switching into experimental noise. The title track, in particular, stands out by opening the EP at a hurtling breakneck pace with impressive drums and menacing guitarwork.

“The Octagonal Stairway” was first released back in 2013 as a part of Adult Swim’s long-running Singles Program. “The Cavalry” and “Cameraman”—another Adult Swim Singles contribution, but in 2019—also appear on the EP.

Pig Destroyer dropped their last studio album, Head Cage, in 2018. It featured the tracks “Army of Cops” and “Mt Skull.”
