Hear Opeth’s new non-album track, “Cirkelns Riktning”

It was left off ‘In Cauda Venenum.’

On Wednesday, Opeth released “Cirkelns Riktning,” a new song that doesn’t appear on their recently released album, In Cauda Venenum.

The song was released as part of Decibel Magazine’s flexi disc series. The blue-and-yellow single is packaged with the metal publication’s November 2019 issue.

Though “Cirkelns Riktning” didn’t make the album, it’s no throwaway. Fans of Opeth’s more vocal-forward work will savor Mikael Åkerfeldt’s powerful delivery on this robust Swedish-language cut.

In Cauda Venenum, which features the songs “Dignity” and “Heart in Hand,” arrived last Friday. It’s the band’s 13th studio album and has been praised as a return to form for the prog veterans.
