North Carolina metal band Lightning Born have released a rollicking hard rock track, “Renegade.”

The song boasts a commanding vocal performance from Brenna Leath, not to mention burly guitar riffs from Erik Sugg. It’s taken from Lightning Born’s eponymous debut album, which drops tomorrow on Ripple Music.

“‘Renegade’ is like 1960s TV show theme jazz, drastically simplified for high volume rock-band presentation (à la early Black Sabbath with a short attention span),” bassist Mike Dean—also a member of Corrosion of Conformity—told Consequence of Sound, which premiered the video for the track. “We thought we would try to swing at a higher velocity.”
