Hear Chester Bennington’s collab with Lamb of God’s Mark Morton

The late Linkin Park frontman is sorely missed.

Last year, Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton announced his solo debut, Anesthetic. Now, he’s released the most anticipated song from the record: “Cross Off,” which features the late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington.

Upon first listen it’s immediately obvious why this song was picked to open the album—it comes in guns blazing, but also dips into beautiful, melodic spaces without sacrificing momentum. Besides Bennington, the song also features contributions from Paolo Gregoletto and Alex Bent, who play bass and drums in Trivium, respectively.

Morton collaborated with many different artists for Anesthetic, but Bennington was the one who surprised him the most, he told Louder Sound in an interview last year. “He just had a lot of creative input at the ready when he came into the studio,” Morton said. “I was really impressed for a guy at his level, at the place in the career he was at, someone of his stature and celebrity, to have that level of humility and commitment to come in there and treat this like it would be a Linkin Park song, or his own song or whatever. I was pretty blown away by that.”
