Gojira release rare live studio recording of “Global Warming”

The 2005 metal hit is revisited as a call to action to save our planet.

For fans who’ve ever sulked about never witnessing “Global Warming” live, things are ‘bout to look up because Gojira return with a rare studio recording.

It marks one of the first few times the metal band have attempted the From Mars to Sirius track since its release, as the band have always found it difficult to perform the song live.

“It is emotionally heavy and would hurt the rest of the songs in a way,” Gojira said on their website.

They also said they were revisiting the 2005 hit to draw attention to the titular environmental crisis, which shows no signs of slowing down.

“We feel it’s good to be reminded of one of the most important challenges of our time: How to grow as a species without being a parasite to our planet, the only home we have,” they said. “We hope all of us will grow, evolve, and take action for a more compassionate and meaningful world.”
