Texas band The Well have released “Sabbah,” the opening track of their forthcoming album, Death and Consolation.

There’s much to love about “Sabbah,” what with its tasty, psych-indebted grooves and love of the dramatic: A backing chorus heralds the song’s end, which arrives in the form of a fuzzy breakdown with indecipherable whispered vocals. All this is sandpapered over with gritty production that makes the song feel more tactile and alive.
