‘Evil Dead’ meets ‘The Sims’ in Escuela Grind’s new video

For three songs from their debut album ‘Indoctrination.’

Escuela Grind have shared a NSFW music video inspired by video game series The Sims and soundtracked by three songs from their debut album Indoctrination.

With the help of director Seby X Martinez, the upstate New York band reimagine their lives as evil Sims dropped into a range of horrific scenarios inspired by Sam Raimi’s iconic ’80s horror flick The Evil Dead. There is more than a touch of gore to go with the visceral grindcore of the three songs picked for the clip—“These Insects Lived Like Men,” “A Ladder of Seven Rounds” and “Zalongo”—so consider yourself warned.

“For our second music video with Seby from Troma, we were all able to come together and quarantine on location in the woods,” Escuela Grind told Revolver. “We thought the area was perfect for a tribute to Evil Dead and, of course, it escalated quickly. At first we were going to use only two of our shorter songs, but the more footage we got of cantaloupe-smashing and ground-beef-hand-chopping, the more grind we needed to provide.”
