Dismember tease possible reunion

Is this real life?

Could this be true? Is a Dismember reunion in the works? Well, it looks like we’ll have to wait to find out, because the Swedish death metal icons have just surprised fans with a mysterious new website.

There’s not much to take away from the page. It only displays the cover art from their 1992 EP, Pieces, in black and white. The image features all five members, including vocalist Matti Kärki, drummer Fred Estby, bassist Richard Cabeza, and guitarists Robert Sennebäck and David Blomqvist, with the group’s logo splashed across in deep red.

The band formed in 1988 and were pioneered Sweden’s death metal scene, influencing the sound of bands such as Opeth and Arch Enemy. After releasing eight studio albums, the group eventually broke up in 2011.

However, in a 2016 interview with Invisible Oranges, Estby mentioned that he was open to the idea of a reunion. “You know what, it seems like there is some interest for Dismember. People were telling me that all the time. So maybe we should try to do some shows and get everything back. We always owned our rights to the albums and shirts, but there are still loose ends to tie up. I just wanted to set the record straight and hopefully do some shows in the future.

Maybe there is hope. Keep up to date with their Facebook or check out their website here.
