Deafheaven unleash massive new track, “Honeycomb”

The metal band’s first new song in three years is an odyssey of black metal, post-rock and shoegaze.

Double pedal kick drums, gore vocals and wicked riffs—there’s nothing not to like about Deafheaven’s epic new track. Released yesterday, the song is the metal band’s first in three years, and it seems as though they’re trying to make up for lost time.

“Honeycomb” doesn’t stick to one sub-genre of metal. From the furious battery of thrash to black metal screams to doom metal’s dark ambiance, the single will take you on a tour of the fringes of metal over its 12 minutes. There’s even a few shoegaze and post-rock passages, alongside melodic riffs this side of In Flames.

We could go on, but you best check out the track for yourself:
