Dave Mustaine teases new Megadeth material

Blast beats, baby!

Megadeth are working on the follow-up to their 2016 record, Dystopia, and head honcho Dave Mustaine has given a brief update on the band’s progress.

“Enjoy a lil tease,” Mustaine tweeted yesterday alongside a 46-second video of Dirk Verbeuren—who left Soilwork in 2016 to join Megadeth—laying down some laser-focused blast beats on an electronic drum kit.

When he’s done, Mustaine remarks, “Shit, I can’t post this, they’ll see those Kettle chips are your secret weapon, on the floor over there.” (They were jalapeño-flavored, if you’re wondering.)


In a follow-up tweet, Mustaine noted that they’re still in the process of writing the record, which will be Megadeth’s 16th (!). Watch the clip of Verbeuren below:
