Crossfaith drop brutal new ‘Species’ EP

“This EP will set the course for the band for the next ten years.”

Japanese veterans Crossfaith have released a new EP, Species.

The five-track project comes two years after the quintet’s last release, the 2018 album EX_MACHINA. It kicks open with the explosive “Digital Parasite,” which vocalist Ken Koie said is a song about “people selling their soul to get fame.” The band dive into industrial rave on “Endorphin,” recruit Osaka rapper Jin Dogg for “None of Your Business” and conclude with “Your Song,” which Koie has called the band’s most emotional song to date.

Species might be an EP, but it’s not a lightweight release for Crossfaith. “I believe this EP will set the course for the band for the next ten years,” Koie said in a statement. “We’ve already started making more new music. We’re not going to stop.”
