Coverge’s Jacob Bannon unveils Umbra Vitae side project

“Return to Zero” is the metal supergroup’s first song.

Coverge frontman Jacob Bannon has debuted his new metal supergroup, Umbra Vitae, with the project’s first release, “Return to Zero.”

Umbra Vitae consists of Bannon’s fellow Wear Your Wounds members Sean Martin and Mike McKenzie on guitars. Job for a Cowboy’s drummer Jon Ric and bassist Greg Weeks from Red Chord round out the five-piece outfit.

The ferocious “Return to Zero” is about “removing resistance in one’s life in order to be best version of ‘you’ that one can be,” Bannon said in a press statement. “I feel that this is a relatable topic for many. What resistance is and how it manifests is unique to every single one of us.”
