Converge release new EP, video for “Melancholia”

The album, ‘Beautiful Ruin,’ consists of four songs.

Converge surprised fans over the weekend with the launch of their latest EP, Beautiful Ruin. Comprising four tracks and running no longer than seven minutes, the record is a blitzkrieg of hardcore punk and metalcore.

Beautiful Ruin follows the release of Converge’s 2017 LP, The Dusk in Us—it was the group’s first album in five years—and arrives right before the band hit the road for their upcoming tour.

To coincide with the release, the Massachusetts act have also dropped a gory video for the track, “Melancholia.” The Tony Wolski-directed clip escalates quickly when a man suddenly loses all control and goes on a cold-blooded killing spree.
