Bring Me the Horizon have just announced the follow-up to 2015’s That’s the Spirit. Amo, the band’s sixth studio album, will arrive in January 2019—and to accompany the announcement, the English rockers have dropped “Mantra,” as a preview of their brand-new sound.

It’s a radio-friendly rock anthem that hears the metalcore outfit ditching their hard-hitting music for a more pop-infused direction. Clearly, it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but the song still retains frontman Oli Sykes’s trademark howling at least—something OG fans can look forward to.

“We want to do heavy in a completely different way,” Sykes said during an interview with BBC Radio. “I mean this is the hardest record we ever wrote, and these songs are the hardest songs because we really challenged ourselves to do something completely different and not lean on anything we’ve done before.”

Listen to “Mantra” below and tell us what you think.
