Bring Me the Horizon have released “Ludens,” their contribution to the soundtrack of the video game Death Stranding and first new release since their 2019 album Amo.
The song was written in five days while BMTH were on tour in Eastern Europe, frontman Oli Sykes told NME, so it could be considered for Death Stranding: Timefall, the official soundtrack to the upcoming PlayStation 4 game developed by Hideo Kojima. “We set up a studio in hotel rooms every day and churned this song out,” Sykes explained. “It was fucking mental, to be honest.”
“Ludens” also serves as a preview of the band’s upcoming material, which might not be released as a full-length album. “We’re thinking about doing shorter records,” Sykes told NME. “I don’t want to say we’re going to do something and not live up to it, but the plan is to release multiple records next year.”
