Babymetal have taken their cross-genre mashup of J-pop and metal one step further by featuring Thai rapper F.HERO on their brand-new single “Pa Pa Ya!!” The band also debuted the song live during their set at Glastonbury this past weekend.

The harshly sung hook of “Pa Pa Ya!!” punctuates the galloping track, which boasts bombastic drumming and some heavy riffs. F.HERO’s moment comes relatively late in the song, making for a strong bridge.

And does this fun-loving new song actually reference the actual papaya fruit? According to Lenzer, a website that specializes in Japanese lyric translations, it does indeed—but it also appears to be about pushing boundaries, more broadly, and celebrating festival season.

Babymetal have also revealed that their third LP Metal Galaxy will arrive October 11. As no tracklist is available yet, it’s unclear if “Pa Pa Ya!!” and earlier singles “Starlight,” “Distortion” and “Elevator Girl” will be a part of that release.
